My wife Glea and I became interested in Dutch Ovens over twenty years ago. Originally it was to have an alternative method of cooking in hard times. In the case of a power failure or lack of fuel, a Dutch Oven would be a real life saver! With the help of a friend who had been cooking with Dutch Ovens for years, we started learning the art of Dutch Oven cooking.
After a year of trial and error we started entering competive cooks in Northern Wyoming and qualified to compete in the IDOS (International Dutch Oven Society) cookoff in Logan, Utah waaay back in '93. We took fourth that year and had a lot of fun and met some great folks.
I started collecting recipes and put together an eBook of Dutch Oven Recipes and then published Dutch Oven Magic followed by Volcano Magic.
Even today I am amazed at what comes out of a Dutch Oven. It’s MAGIC. It looks great and tastes even better!
